Medyt is built so that your photos, and everything Medyt learns about them, stay on your iPhone.
What stays on your iPhone
Your photos and videos; the faces, people, pets, places, clothes and text Medyt recognises in them; the names and nicknames you give; your categories; and everything you type or say to Medyt. All of it is processed on the device — with Apple Intelligence and Medyt's own on-device models — and none of it is sent to us or to anyone else.
What leaves your iPhone
Only what is needed to sell and manage Medyt Pro, through Apple's App Store and our purchase service, RevenueCat: your purchase history, a random identifier created on your iPhone (not linked to your name, email or Apple ID), and four anonymous numbers — how many requests you made today, the day you reached the free limit, the rough size of your library (a range, never the number), and whether the first scan has finished. We use them to run subscriptions and to understand, in aggregate, how Medyt is used.
What we never do
- Upload your photos, or anything recognised in them.
- Show ads, or track you across apps and websites.
- Sell or share your data.
The Android waitlist
If you join the waitlist for Medyt for Android on this website, we keep the name, email address and country you type, and nothing else. We use them for one purpose: to email you once when the Android version is available. They are stored in a database at Cloudflare, which hosts this website, and the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. We do not share them or use them for anything else, and you can ask us to delete them at any time (see Support). This is separate from the iPhone app, which does not ask for or send an email.
Deleting your data
Deleting Medyt from your iPhone deletes its index of your photos. Your photos themselves are never changed unless you empty “Review for Deletion”, and then iOS asks you once more.
